In this training, the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project will prepare you to represent domestic violence victims in court and help them and their children find immediate safety from abuse, including during the current public health crisis. Topics will include: an overview of the CPO process, dynamics of domestic violence, the Intra-Family Offenses Act, interviewing clients, obtaining evidence, handling contested hearings, and changes to the process in light of the current public health situation.
